There are several things to consider when you pull a trailer behind your motorcycle. First, when you have a trailer, you want to make sure that it handles well behind your motorcycle. When you have a trailer that is lightweight, you still need to be certain that the quality is good and that you have a safe product. When a trailer is full of cargo, you want to also know that you still have a safe ride. Heavy weight can prevent you from being able to maneuver your bike safely. A well designed trailer can improve the handling of your bike. If you overload your motorcycle with gear strapped on the gas tank, tour trunk, etc. then this raises the center of gravity and makes for poor handling. When you have a trailer, all unnecessary weight is taken off of the bike and makes for better handling. When you have a trailer that is full of cargo, you want to also know that you still have a safe ride. Heavy weight can prevent you from being able to maneuver your bike safely. If you have a well designed trailer that is lightweight, then you reduce your weight that can create issues with your handling.

Also, your trailer should not be much wider than a heavily dressed bike. When you are clearing objects, it is more complicated to maneuver through objects if your trailer is a lot wider than your motorcycle.

When you choose a trailer, you also need to look at the height. You do not want to choose a trailer that is taller than the tallest point of your bike. Also be assured that the trailer you choose has the space that is used effectively.

Last, you need to always be aware that whenever you pull something behind your motorcycle, if it is heavy, then it can impact the brakes on your motorcycle. Not only can it be proved through science, it is just what it is. On any vehicle, the more weight that is added, the more that braking issues can occur.
